At NMSI, we believe that prayer is the heart of missions. With strong prayer coverage and intercession, our missionaries will be able able to complete the work that the Lord has put before them, their relationships will be strengthened, a bold witness will be shown, and the Kingdom of God will advance—all to His glory and praise.

We invite you to join us as we pray for our missionaries each day.  You may use the following prayer points as a guide.  We focus on themes such as relationship with God, language and culture, effective ministry, family life, physical and emotional needs, relationship with co-workers, and dependence on the Holy Spirit. 

Sunday

• Pray that our missionaries would have meaningful times of worship, teaching, and fellowship to nourish their own spiritual lives.
• Pray for effective methods and strategies of evangelism for our missionaries who are involved in church planting.
• Pray for perseverance in language study and a good balance of correction and encouragement from the nationals.
• Pray that the people would see the love and power of God demonstrated in the lives of the missionaries.
• Pray that God would use Youth Hope to minister to the holistic needs of young people and to train national youth leaders.

Monday

• Pray that our missionaries would continue to grow in their love and devotion to the Lord.
• Pray that as missionaries adapt to a new culture, they would recognize their true identity and self-worth comes from who they are in Christ.
• Pray that the students being taught by our missionaries in Bible Colleges would mature spiritually and be well prepared for future ministry.
• Pray that our missionaries would maintain a healthy marriage through good communication, mutual love and respect.
• Pray for a spirit of unity, humility, and mutual submission in relationships with co-workers and national leaders.

Tuesday

• Pray that our missionaries would make daily time in the Word and prayer a priority in their schedules.
• Pray that our missionaries would have wisdom in making decisions about the education of their children.
• Pray that the missionaries would know how to connect the truths of the gospel with elements that are already present in the culture.
• Pray that our missionaries would come alongside the national believers to help mentor and train future leaders.
• Pay that the missionaries working with Habitat for Hope in Tennessee would show God’s love and compassion to families who have children dealing with chronic illnesses.

Wednesday

• Pray that our missionaries would experience a daily infilling of the Holy Spirit and would yield to His control.
• Pray that the Lord would protect the missionaries and their families from accidents, disease, and other possible sources of harm.
• Pray for missionaries living amongst poor and needy people to have discernment in how to meet needs without making people dependent on them.
• Pray that our missionaries would follow the example of Jesus in going not to be served but to serve.
• Pray that missionaries working as professionals would have opportunities to share Christ with their business associates.

Thursday

• Pray that our missionaries would see how God is working in their lives and circumstances and celebrate the small victories.
• Pray for wisdom for the missionaries as they disciple new believers to be able to stand strong when they face opposition.
• Pray that the children of missionaries would grow up feeling loved and secure and would come to know Christ at an early age.
• Pray that God would call individuals and churches to be a part of the missionary’s prayer and financial support team.
• Pray that our missionaries who are teaching methods of farming and nutrition would be used by God to enable the people to have their physical needs met.

Friday

• Pray that our missionaries would be strong in the Lord and put on the full armor of God when faced with Satan’s attacks.
• Pray that the Lord would keep the missionaries from discouragement and feeling overwhelmed as they adapt to a new culture.
• Pray that through activities such as sports camps and skate boarding, our missionaries would develop deep relationships with young people and share Christ with them.
• Pray that in times of loneliness, single missionaries would find contentment through experiencing the love and presence of the Lord.
• Pray that those working among Muslim people would be wise in sharing the love and truth of Christ in meaningful ways.

Saturday

• Pray that our missionaries would balance their work responsibilities with the right amount of rest and recreation.
• Pray that our missionaries would wisely and accurately communicate their joys and struggles to their support team.
• Pray that through the power of the Holy Spirit, missionaries would resist any sexual or other temptations and would pursue righteousness.
• Pray that God would bring inner emotional healing as well as physical health and provision for the women and orphans that our being minister to by our missionaries.
• Pray that God would raise up more people to be involved in seeing His Kingdom spread through their faithful intercession.
